The Polar Bear Swim is a fun event that happens in winter. Here are some other facts I’ve learned from this article.

Basketball

Have you played basketball before? This term our maths class are going to basketball in the hall. We have coaches they are Malik and Yaran. We been learning about lots of skills.

Some of the skills we learnt were V dribble,The beef, over head pass, chest pass, and jump stop. Also we played a game called golden child. You get Into 2 teams. 1 team has to shout the ball into the Hoop and the other team have to try run around the hall. If the team shoots the ball and gets it into the hoop Everyone yells “STOP!” I was the golden. The golden child runs last and get all the people that stop and grab them to the end.

I really like basketball. I learnt a lot of skills. My favourite time at basketball was when I played goldenchild and jump stop. I love basketball

5. What is your favourite part of the story and why? my favourite part of the story is when fiti scored the try because it looked fun when he dived.

Winter is here

On the 1st of June that was a Monday, winter came. I looked outside and it was muddy and slippery. When I stepped outside ,it was freezing and my fingers

were num. I had 4 blankets on me while I slept. My mum made us some cheese toast to keep us warm.

There was frost on the grass “I hate winter”.

Slugs - they’re not always a pest!

At reading we learned about slugs. DId you know that slugs are not always

a pest? There is diffrent kind of slugs. We learnt about the native slug. The

native slug is not a pest. If you see them just leave them alone. They live

under rotting logs.

My long weekend

What did you do in the long weekend? In the long weekend I went to my Nana's house on the Queen's birthday. We went to my Nana house because it was her birthday. We were all excited to see her because we haven’t seen her for a long time and she lives in manurewa.

When we got there I ran to my nan and gave her a big hug. I said happy birthday. She is 64 years old. I played black ops 2 with my

cousin I waited until the BBQ. Finally the BBQ is done we had pork,

steak, sausages and bread. It was delicious.

First I said to my mum “when a we going to have cake and ice cream”

and my mum said “wait until you rest your stomach” so I rest my

stomach and waited. My mum came and said “Charles come and sing

happy birthday to her”

We all went in the kitchen and sang happy birthday. I saw the cake on the table it was huge. The cake was a chocolate and a vanilla cake it

had chocolate icing on top of the cake and we had rainbow ice cream It

was yummy I had a big piece of cake on my plate.  

I had lots of fun at my Nana's house. We said “by nan we see you later” We all went home I was sad but my mum said “we can go back

there on Saturday” We all had lots of fun. When we got home I had a big sleep. I love the long weekend.
